A rapidly growing start-up that is focused on AI and ML learning to develop cutting edge solutions is looking for an end-to-end machine learning engineer
Role:
- Design, build, and deploy state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) that drive our AI solutions.
- Fine-tune and optimize existing LLM architectures for production-grade applications.
- Work with a team of data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver scalable AI solutions.
- Develop and maintain ML pipelines, ensuring robust and efficient model performance.
- Collaborate on integrating LLMs into customer-facing products and ensuring seamless deployment to production.
- Continuously research and implement best practices in the LLM field to stay ahead of the competition.
- Monitor, test, and troubleshoot models to ensure they meet performance standards.
Your Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a strong focus on LLMs (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5, etc.).
- An advanced degree (PHS, Masters) in Computer Science or STEM.
- Hands-on experience building and fine-tuning large language models for real-world applications.
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face).
- Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with other relevant languages (e.g., Java, C++).
- Experience deploying machine learning models in production, including containerization and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Solid understanding of model evaluation, performance metrics, and model optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with NLP techniques, transformers, and modern LLM architectures.
- A passion for AI and a commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.

THE ROLE
As a Principal Applied Scientist, you will play a crucial role in developing novel machine learning and LLM models tailored for the legal and financial services domain. Your work will directly shape the company’s AI capabilities, and you will report directly to the C-suite.
- Innovate and Build: Develop novel machine learning and LLM models from the ground up, tailored for the legal industry and open-source environments.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Applied Scientist with the following qualifications:
- 7+ years of commercial experience in NLP, with a focus on building production-ready language-based models.
- Proven experience in building NLP platforms and working with large datasets.
- Deep expertise in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch, NLTK, spaCy, etc.) and developing production-grade natural language / information retrieval models.
- A track record of taking models from concept to production, with hands-on experience in research and commercial deployment.
- Familiarity with advanced machine learning techniques for natural language models (NLP / LLMs).
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, wearing multiple hats and collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.
