Harnham is partnered with a well-known financial services company that is disrupting a key area of financial services. They are building out a proprietary LLM platform that will revolutionize how certain financial tasks are carried out in the cloud. This will be a senior-level ML Engineer in the business and lead all LLM projects from end-to-end.
THE ROLE
- You will be responsible for end-to-end machine learning model development and deployment for the company's AI platform
- You will report directly to senior leadership and work closely on technical direction
- Own development of new PoCs and quickly build into production, particularly focusing on novel NLP and LLM applications
- You will implement and design code and build out to production using various machine learning and LLM techniques, owning machine learning infrastructure
- You will play an integral role of building out the AI team and scaling out its product
- Act as a thought leader role for AI across the business
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Senior Machine Learning Engineer will likely have the following skills and experience:
- 3-5 years of commercial experience (depending on education level) preferred with a focus on building and deploying natural language and LLM models
- Experience working in a fast-moving organization is preferred
- Expertise in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for production-grade work
- Commercial experience building novel NLP and LLM AI platforms with large datasets
- Cloud experience in AWS, Azure or GCP preferred
- History of working on models from concept to production / end-to-end / 0-1
- Experience in settings wearing multiple hats
- Domain experience in financial services, investment or private equity a plus
- History of partnering with non-technical stakeholders required
- Experience as a player/coach or manager for AI teams preferred
- PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering or similar

This is a senior, delivery-focused consulting role with significant responsibility and visibility.
You will act as the day-to-day owner of client engagements, running projects end to end across both consultancy-led and product-enabled work. This role combines project leadership, client management, internal coordination, and commercial awareness.
It’s an “operations / head consultant” style position – ideal for someone who enjoys running complex engagements, bringing structure to ambiguity, and keeping momentum across multiple workstreams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project & Delivery Leadership
- Own end-to-end delivery across consultancy and product-led engagements.
- Build and manage delivery plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Ensure high-quality execution and outcomes across all projects.
Client Engagement
- Act as the primary client-facing lead on engagements.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Maintain focus, momentum, and confidence throughout delivery.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ensure alignment.
- Translate client needs into clear delivery requirements.
- Keep technical teams focused and unblocked.
Commercial & Growth Support
- Support new business activity by shaping delivery approaches.
- Contribute to winning and scoping new work where appropriate.
- Help establish delivery best practices as the business grows.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
- 4-5 years’ experience in consulting or a similar delivery-focused environment.
- Proven experience running complex projects and workstreams.
- Strong client-facing skills with senior stakeholder exposure.
- Background in operational efficiency, analytics, engineering, automation, or transformation programmes.
- Excellent organisational and project leadership capability.
Nice to Have
- Experience in property or asset-heavy sectors.
- Exposure to product-led consulting models.
- Involvement in early-stage or high-growth business environments.

This role sits firmly within the Media & Publishing arm, supporting high-traffic websites and content networks monetised primarily through advertising, sponsorship, and emerging subscription models. As the business continues to explore registration walls, premium content, and audience monetisation strategies, analytics plays a central role in shaping commercial and product decisions.
THE TEAM
You’ll join a close-knit analytics and data team of around 10 people working across publishing, audience, and technology initiatives.
The team includes analysts, data engineering, and data science, working closely with product, editorial, and commercial stakeholders. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and still evolving, offering scope to influence how analytics is embedded across the publishing organisation.
THE ROLE
This Product Data Analyst role is focused on understanding audience behaviour, engagement, and monetisation across large-scale media platforms.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how users interact with content – from registration walls and recirculation strategies to experimentation, forecasting, and evaluating new initiatives such as AI-driven content enhancements.
The role combines hands-on analysis with stakeholder management, requiring someone who can confidently challenge assumptions, manage expectations, and translate data into clear commercial recommendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Audience & Engagement Analytics
- Analyse and optimise registration walls, including their impact on revenue, engagement, and audience understanding
- Develop approaches to capturing user interests and preferences to improve relevance and personalisation
- Own recirculation analysis, understanding how users move through content once on site
Experimentation & Optimisation
- Design and analyse A/B tests across navigation, banners, “what to read next”, and internal linking
- Evaluate what drives deeper engagement, longer dwell time, and repeat visits
- Partner with product and editorial teams to embed learnings into site strategy
Commercial & Strategic Analytics
- Support advertising and monetisation decisions through audience and behavioural insights
- Contribute to forecasting website traffic and audience growth
- Evaluate the impact of new initiatives, including AI-driven features such as content summarisation
Cross-Business Support
- Work flexibly across different areas of the publishing organisation as priorities evolve
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy
- Push back where necessary, managing expectations and advocating for data-led decision making
TECH STACK
- Cloud-based data warehouse (GCP)
- SQL – strong, hands-on capability required
- Google Analytics for tagging and behavioural analysis
- Python (nice to have, not essential)
