The Company

This is a US-based, industrial AI company building cutting-edge computer vision systems to solve high-stakes safety challenges in the field. Their core product transforms how critical rope systems- used in sectors like utilities, mining, construction, and maritime- are monitored and assessed, helping prevent life-threatening failures before they happen.

The Role

As the Full Stack Web Application Systems Engineer, you'll own the entire web stack- from frontend interfaces to backend infrastructure- powering a suite of AI-powered edge devices used in field operations. You'll architect robust, offline-friendly applications for rugged field use, while also supporting desktop workflows for internal teams.

This role combines frontend and backend development with systems thinking and architectural leadership. You'll work closely with AI, edge device, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and performance across environments with spotty connectivity and high reliability demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the full web application stack (frontend, backend, cloud).

  • Architect offline-first, resilient systems for real-world field usage.

  • Build APIs and real-time sync between edge devices and cloud systems.

  • Make key decisions around architecture, frameworks, security, and identity.

  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across AI, edge hardware, and product teams.

Tech Environment

  • Frontend: Vue.js, responsive interfaces for tablet and desktop

  • Backend: AWS-based services, real-time communication with edge devices

  • Infrastructure: Distributed architecture across edge, cloud, and web

  • Tooling: Full ownership of CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and testing

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years' experience architecting full-stack web applications

  • Strong understanding of offline-first design & real-time data sync

  • Experience with Vue.js, API design, identity/auth systems

  • Deep AWS knowledge and experience interfacing with distributed devices

  • Able to own systems end-to-end, with excellent communication & documentation habits

  • Comfortable in high-ownership, small-team environments

Work Policy

  • Remote-friendly within the US

  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment

  • Role based in a high-trust, high-ownership startup culture
