The Role

About the Role

THE COMPANY:
This organisation is currently undergoing a digital transformation, with a strong focus on improving how operational data is utilised across the business. They are looking for a BI Developer to help define “what good looks like” by connecting operational data to the wider business, improving forecasting capabilities, and identifying opportunities to drive efficiency through better reporting and potential automation.
THE ROLE:
You will play a key role in bringing together disparate data sources (including Zendesk and internal back-office systems) to create a unified and accessible data view. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Bringing together and integrating operational data with the wider business
- Building and maintaining robust data pipelines
- Developing standardised data models using SQL and dbt
- Identifying and resolving data quality issues, including duplicates
- Creating clear, actionable reports for non-technical stakeholders
- Building dashboards and reports on Lightdash
- Supporting and enhancing Lightdash usage
- Collaborating with Ops, Data, Product, and senior stakeholders including the CFO
- Identifying opportunities for automation and improved efficiency
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- Strong experience as a BI Developer / Analytics Engineer / Data Engineer
- Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt
- Experience with Lightdash or Looker
- Experience building data pipelines and data models
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate with non-technical teams
- Experience working with operational or business process data
Desirable:
- Experience with Zendesk or similar customer/operations platforms
- Familiarity with Airflow
