THE ROLE
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of 8-10 Data Engineers across onshore and offshore locations
- Define and deliver the data engineering strategy, roadmap and best practices
- Drive the migration from legacy on-premise technology to a modern AWS and Snowflake data platform
- Build internal capability and reduce reliance on external contractors
- Partner closely with Architecture, Analytics and senior business stakeholders

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Your Skills & Experience
- Strong credit risk experience within a FinTech, consumer lending, or related lending environment
- Advanced SQL skills and the ability to work independently with data
- Python experience is desirable
- Strong understanding of credit strategy, pricing, and lending economics
- Experience developing new products, propositions, or lending initiatives
- Commercially focused with the ability to evaluate opportunities and make data-driven decisions
- Comfortable operating as an individual contributor and leading through influence

The Role
You will lead a team of analytics professionals while remaining closely involved in the technical delivery of analytical projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of analysts and technical specialists
- Shaping the analytics roadmap and partnering with senior stakeholders to prioritise business needs
- Developing frameworks to measure operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Delivering hands-on analysis, including experimentation, statistical testing, and operational insight generation
- Influencing senior leaders through data-driven recommendations and strategic thinking
- Automating manual processes and improving analytical ways of working
- Supporting AI and chatbot initiatives by building operational context and measurement frameworks
- Providing insight into the performance and adoption of internal AI tools and copilots
- Driving a more structured, scalable approach within a fast-moving operational environment
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience in analytics leadership and people management
- Advanced SQL skills with the ability to remain hands-on technically
- Experience leading analytical initiatives that influence operational or commercial strategy
- Strong statistical knowledge, including experimentation and significance testing
- Experience working with stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior leadership
- Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day delivery
- Experience using AI tools to improve processes and productivity
- Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, fintech, insurance, telecommunications, or similar environments is advantageous
- Experience with modern analytics tools such as Looker, dbt, Airflow, or Git is beneficial
- Background in operational analytics, customer service analytics, workforce management, process optimisation, or related areas is highly desirable
