Digital Analytics Lead

£50,000-£55,000

Fully Remote in The UK

The Company

This is an opportunity to join a high-profile organisation at the heart of UK tourism, working to promote Britain as a destination to visitors from around the world! With a global presence and a broad range of digital platforms, campaigns and customer journeys, the organisation is investing heavily in how it uses data and analytics to understand performance, improve digital experiences and support better decision-making. As the Digital Analytics Lead you will join the Digital, Data & Technology function, working closely with Digital Product, Marketing, Content, Data Science, BI, SEO and external agency partners.

The Role

As Digital Analytics Lead, you'll take ownership of the organisation's digital measurement strategy, ensuring that digital activity is measured effectively and that data can be translated into meaningful insight. This is a genuinely varied role combining digital analytics strategy, business analysis, technical implementation and stakeholder management. You'll design measurement frameworks, define KPIs and event taxonomies, and ensure measurement is embedded throughout major digital initiatives, from discovery through to optimisation. A key part of the role is being hands-on technically, particularly across Google Tag Manager and data layer strategy and implementation. You'll audit existing data layers, identify tracking gaps and produce clear technical specifications for web agencies and developers.

You'll also:

  • Lead digital measurement strategy across websites, campaigns, digital products and customer journeys.
  • Design tracking strategies, measurement plans, event taxonomies, data layer requirements and KPI frameworks.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across GA4, Google Tag Manager, browser DevTools and associated platforms.
  • Troubleshoot tracking issues, oversee QA and make implementation decisions.
  • Work with developers, agencies, product teams, BI and data teams to embed measurement requirements.
  • Use BigQuery and Databricks to investigate data quality issues and understand downstream data requirements.
  • Lead digital implementation governance, consent management and data quality practices.
  • Translate complex business questions into clear, measurable analytical approaches.
  • Analyse digital channels, products and customer journeys to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with analytics agencies and support procurement activity.
  • Line manage and develop a Digital Analytics Implementation Specialist.
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, agencies and data functions.

Your Skills & Experience

I am looking for someone who combines strong digital analytics knowledge with genuine hands-on implementation experience.

Most importantly, you'll need:

  • Experience leading digital measurement strategy across websites, campaigns, digital products or customer journeys.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager, including data layers.
  • Experience auditing existing data layers, identifying tracking gaps and writing technical implementation briefs.
  • Strong GA4 experience across implementation, tracking and measurement.
  • Experience with event design, QA, troubleshooting and analytics governance.
  • Experience working with BigQuery or similar data environments.
  • The ability to translate business objectives into measurement frameworks, KPIs and analytical requirements.
  • Experience working with developers, web agencies, product teams, marketers and data specialists.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Good understanding of privacy and consent requirements, including GDPR and PECR.

Experience with Custom JavaScript / advanced GTM implementations would be a major bonus, alongside exposure to product analytics, BI tools, SQL, Databricks or cloud data environments. You don't need previous management experience, but you'll need to be comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of the technical side of digital analytics.

The Benefits

  • £50,000-£55,000
