Director of Quantitative Operations

Up to £100,000 + Quarterly Bonus Remote (UK) | London Office Available

I'm hiring a Director of Quantitative Operations for a highly respected healthcare insights and research organisation, part of a globally recognised healthcare data and research group. This is a leadership role focused on operational excellence, team performance, and project delivery across quantitative healthcare research programmes.

The business combines the agility and specialist expertise of a healthcare research consultancy with the backing and scale of a global organisation, delivering research and healthcare data services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare clients across Europe and beyond.

The Opportunity

This role leads the UK & European Quant Operations function, overseeing the delivery of quantitative healthcare research projects that support clinical trials, healthcare studies, and pharmaceutical research initiatives.

Importantly, this is not a research design or insights role.

Instead, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading operational delivery teams
  • Managing project and fieldwork operations
  • Optimising processes and performance
  • Developing leaders and future talent
  • Driving operational excellence and client satisfaction
  • Ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest quality standards

The team generates approximately £12m-£15m of annual project revenue, making this a highly visible leadership position.

What You'll Be Doing

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 12 people across operations and project management functions
  • Drive succession planning and team development
  • Manage team performance, resource allocation, and utilisation
  • Build a high-performing, delivery-focused culture

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day quantitative research operations across the UK and Europe
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
  • Develop and implement best practices across project delivery and operational workflows
  • Continuously improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and operational feasibility
  • Build credibility with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure excellent communication between operations, client services, finance, and wider business functions

Strategic Contribution

  • Support the implementation of departmental strategy and growth plans
  • Partner with senior leadership to enhance operational delivery capabilities
  • Contribute to service innovation and operational improvements across the business

What They're Looking For

Essential

  • Strong background in quantitative research operations
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, healthcare insights, or healthcare data collection experience
  • Proven experience leading operational or project delivery teams
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and project portfolios
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment
  • Experience within market research, healthcare research, or healthcare fieldwork operations

Highly Desirable

  • Clinical trials or healthcare recruitment experience
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals or physician research panels
  • Experience within healthcare insights or patient recruitment environments
  • Exposure to ISO 20252 / 26362 standards and healthcare research regulations

The Ideal Candidate

You're likely currently operating as a:

  • Research Operations Director
  • Associate Director, Research Operations
  • Head of Operations
  • Healthcare Research Operations Manager
  • Quantitative Operations Lead
  • Research Delivery Director
  • Healthcare Fieldwork Director

You'll be comfortable balancing strategic leadership with operational execution, and you'll bring the gravitas needed to influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.

Why Join?

  • Join a globally recognised healthcare insights organisation
  • Lead a significant operational function across the UK and Europe
  • Strong reputation within pharma and healthcare research
  • Fully remote working available
  • Backed by a major international healthcare business
