This is an opportunity for a well-rounded data scientist to use their knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning to get their hands on some of the toughest problems in data science. This company specializes in the insurance sector and is looking for an extremely talented NLP/NLU expert to work across a wide variety of cutting-edge projects. THE COMPANY

As a senior data scientist, you'll find yourself working closed with some of the best Data Scientists that focus on insurance claims, healthcare data and extracting important information for their NLP team. The company applies advanced machine learning models to all types of text extraction. They have seen great success increasing working with healthcare, insurance and electronic medical records.

THE ROLE

With a rich and varied dataset to work from, this team has tons of exciting data and you'll have the chance to apply your data science expertise to the most innovative techniques in optical character recognition as well as many other data science projects. It will be your responsibility to identify and enact the capacity of data science projects throughout the company.

• You will work with a growing multidisciplinary team of talented data scientists, statisticians, engineers, and researchers to leverage unique healthcare data
• You will have the opportunity to work with extremely diverse and entirely unique clinical trial and healthcare datasets that extend to all phases of care delivery from the perspective of all key stakeholders (patients, providers, payers).
• Responsibilities will include helping to execute the company's data science strategy in the area of language understanding, as well as to further create, extend, and validate the language processing algorithms

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will need to be a proven problem solver, critical thinker, and have an advanced technical background to join this growing, experienced team. The successful senior data scientist will likely have the following skills and experience:

• OCR is an absolute must
• PhD or MS in computer science or related discipline with work experience as a Research Scientist in Machine Learning and Natural Language Programming
• Strong deep learning background and familiarity with state-of-the-art NLP techniques (BERT, XLM, XLNet)
• Applied programming experience in Pythonand other languages
• Experience with libraries and tools like Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Theano, Keras, and CUDA
• Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as in an interdisciplinary team

THE BENEFITS
A competitive base salary of $145,000 - $165,000 + a strong equity package and benefits.
