A globally renowned Retail Analytics Consultancy are looking for a Category Manager to come and join their team in the Greater Boston Area. If you are ambitious, want to join a centralized, data-driven organization and have a solid background in analyzing customer experience, brand perception and category management, then this could be the next role for you.

THE ROLE -Category Manager

As a Category Manager, you will be the face of this company to a globally renowned Retail client in the Greater Boston Area. You will be involved in a diverse range of projects working on market segmentation, merchandizing assortment, pricing & promotion optimization and customer experience. Working as part of a collaborative team who have solid consumer insights, merchandising, and category management backgrounds, as well as technically strong in Excel, Tableau and IRI/Nielsen data, you will be delivering key insights from your work to senior stakeholders.

You will:

  • Actively take a lead in understanding overall business goals and constraints across multiple teams internally, whether it be to understand brand performance, product assortment optimization, pricing/promotion planning or customer experience and persona across multiple channels, creating customer journey insights and a strategic roadmap
  • Be involved in the end-to-end solution design and delivery, working with internal teams to ensure that the quality of data received it of a high caliber, and helps to understand the motives behind customer behaviors, as well as category and merchandizing assortment optimization and loyalty and boosting sales/profitability
  • Focus on competitor analysis, market segmentation, merchandising strategy and brand tracking/positioning for a diverse range of products globally, so need to be willing to learn and diversify across projects and markets
  • Responsible for visualizing the data outputs, building a strategic road maps that will help the business achieve its overall goals

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree educated in a relative discipline such as Psychology, Marketing etc with a strong business acumen
  • Background in CPG/Retail/Food Retail environment in a consumer insights, merchandising, category management or research field, leveraging data across multiple channels, as well as working with IRI and Nielsen data and vendors
  • Sound understanding of statistical techniques such as regression, correlation or segmentation analysis, and the importance of customer journey and brand tracking with sales and product performance
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously

Get in the habit of saying yes to new opportunities and activities. Making the effort can go a long way in enriching your new experience and helps to bring you more fully into experience your newfound digs. When you think of the Pacific Northwest, images of Pike’s Place at Seattle’s Waterfront and Starbucks’ birthplace may come immediately to mind. Or shoot down the I-5 Corridor toward the Silicon Forest, Oregon’s tech hub nod and nickname, a play on Silicon Valley just a little further South down the I-5 to San Francisco. One thing which may stand out immediately on the drive is the ocean vista view.
