This is an exciting new opportunity for a Research Scientist to join a Global Data Science Consultancy!

THE COMPANY

This global consultancy have a strong team of Research Data Scientists working a range of retail clients. This role sits within the pricing and promotions area - one of the companies biggest products so you'll have a huge impact on their clients by researching into this space and allowing them to understand their products most effectively. Not everything you do will go into production so it's a great role for a Research expert!

THE ROLE

As the Senior Research Data Scientist for the business you will:

  • You will work collaboratively with a team of Data Scientists to deliver on client projects
  • You'll be researching on data, testing the data, researching on how best to improve current algorithms and new algorithms
  • You'll be focusing predominantly on price predictions algorithms, price optimisation algorithms and personalisationpersonalisation algorithms in a customer focused environment

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • PhD in a numerical field is essential (Operational Research, Mathematics, Physics etc)
  • An excellent understanding and proven commercial experience using machine learning techniques
  • Willingness to focus on Research
  • Tech: Python, SQL

SQLSALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Basic salary £55,000 - £65,000

Three Ways Data Impacts The Customer Experience

In 2019, over 50 per cent of companies had adopted Big Data, with a further 38 per cent citing that they would be investing in it in the future. As it stands, we can assume that now, at least three-quarters of businesses will have invested in Big Data capabilities. By 2022, the annual revenue from the global big data and business analytics market is expected to reach $274.3 billion.  The lucrative nature of this industry stems from a recognition by many companies that it’s no longer good enough to guess what customers might want or need from your product or service, but to have hard evidence to back up your choices.
