Senior Manager - Quantitative Risk

You'll join a dynamic Model Risk Management team, which work on independent reviews and validations across the entire bank, furthermore providing independent challenges and reviewing prices across all business areas in relation to the bank. In addition, within this role you will:

  • Evaluate the appropriateness of models for their specific purpose and ensure vital model risks are identified and communicated to senior managers.
  • Be the focal point of advising how model risk can be reduced or mitigated.
  • Challenge existing models and the uses for them, furthermore developing alternative models basing your conclusion on rigorous quantitative analysis.
  • Broaden your knowledge to include model for market risk, counter party risk and algorithmic trading.
  • Assert yourself well to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Taking into consideration a variety of audiences to then communicate your model reviews verbally and in a report format which will include senior managers and model developers.


Along with a postgraduate degree (to at least a masters level) in a highly-quantitative subject, this job role will also require the ideal candidate to demonstrate:

  • A high level of expertise in complex quantitative modelling and analysis, gained through business experience.
  • An understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Programming skills such as C++ is a must.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and handle multiple projects with demanding deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
