THE COMPANY

This renowned Broadcast Media corporation is focused on news and sports worldwide and are looking to expand its data and analytics practices to drive business. As a Data Engineer within this team, you will be maintaining and developing complex data lakes and warehouses and will be working with large scale data sets and sources.

THE ROLE

• Build scalable data infrastructure and maintain understandings of software architecture and different compute and storage perspectives!
• Utilize SQL and have a deep understanding of data modeling and ETL processes
• Design data products and models to enable data insights to drive compelling decisions for the business
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure proper integration of new features, ensure accuracy of data, and identify improvements
• Ensure data quality by performing root cause analysis and detecting issues

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A successful Data Engineer within this role will likely have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Data Engineering with hands-on experience on batch and stream data processing using computing systems like Spark
• Experience working in large volume data processing using Scala or Pyspark
• Strong experience in AWS Cloud, Databricks, SQL, and performance tuning
• Background working with programming languages like Python or Java

Data Engineer (Sports Data Platforms)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the data strategy and structure of our client’s sports data portfolio. As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive data lake and warehouse solutions. This opportunity will allow you to work with one of the world’s largest and leading news corporations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building different types of data lake and warehousing layers based on specific use cases.
• Building scalable data infrastructure and understanding distributed systems concepts from a data storage and compute perspective.
• Utilizing expertise in SQL and having a strong understanding of ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) and data modeling.
• Ensuring the accuracy and availability of data to customers and understanding how technical decisions can impact the business’s analytics and reporting.
• Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform and load data from a wide variety of data sources.
• Developing scalable engineering solutions and building data solutions that drive real impact within the Fox organization.
• Ensure quality by performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting of defects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a strong focus on batch and stream data processing using distributed computing systems like Spark.
• Proficiency in either pySpark or Scala to handle large-volume data processing.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java.
• Familiarity with AWS and Databricks.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

This agency focuses its resources on healthcare/hospital services to bring better health to more people nationwide. As a research data analyst, you will be collaborating with multiple teams and VPs to enhance analysis and quality within their data practice.

THE ROLE

• Track, report, and analyze the performance of marketing activities, ad-hoc analytic requests, and development/automation of regular analytics reports by the client
• Analyze external and internal customer data using internal business intelligence platform, database spreadsheet (Excel) models, web analytics tools, statistical analysis tools, and campaign management software tools
• Analyze A/B and multi-variate tests and communicate results
• Provide actionable overall market and customer insights to address key strategic questions

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A successful Data Analyst within this role will likely have the following skills and experience:

• 2-4 years of work experience in marketing research, statistical or data analysis (or academic equivalent)
• 2-4 years of experience in statistical analysis (SAS or R)
• Experience with Sisense or similar data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Deep understanding of SQL and writing queries to extract, transform and load data
• Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of business acumen
• Proven ability in handling concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
