THE COMPANY
This non-profit start-up's mission is to empower the surgical community with data science insights from surgical videos. They are surgeons, scientists, and engineers seeking a fellow mission-driven CV/ML scientist to lead their research team.
THE ROLE
As the first hire of any ML and vision competency in the org, you will have a direct role in growing your team and eventually being the Head of ML & Vision reporting to the CEO. This is a chance to build a team from scratch while playing a major role on the technical side as well.
- Building a Machine Learning/Computer Vision/Data Science team of experts
- ML/CV/Data Pipeline-based problems in the healthcare/medical device field
- Video and image processing 2D/3D
- Ensure that the team is constructing the video library properly so they can develop early tools and methods.
- Ability to contribute as an individual and manage a team that is doing image/video processing on a massive amount of 4k video/data
- Constructing the library of surgical videos; Optimizing the video delivery pipelines; ensuring that the storing and presenting of the video is most cost-effective.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will be an expert ML/DL/CV Engineer or Scientist:
- Ph.D. or MS in a related field with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience
- Ability to set your own agenda and operate individually
- Experience with Video Data processing
- Computer Vision will likely become most of the role after the team build-out
- Currently using AWS, ClearML, and basic MLOps pipelines. The candidate will bring ideas on how this can be done better.
- Python & C++, and Deep Learning Libraries: OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Working at device companies
