Location: SF Bay Area. Hybrid on Site

Salary: $170k – $200k (Depending on experience)

Job Description:

You will play a critical role in helping us understand and optimize our players’ experience across all of our games. You will work closely with our product teams to analyze player behavior, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement data-driven solutions that enhance player engagement and satisfaction. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior data scientists and providing guidance and leadership to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze player behavior and game data to identify areas for improvement
• Develop and implement data-driven solutions that enhance player engagement and satisfaction
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure data-driven solutions are integrated into the games
• Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and validate models
• Develop and maintain predictive models to drive business decisions
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in data science and share your knowledge with the team

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science
• Strong proficiency in Python or R
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization
• Passion for video games and the gaming industry
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, and product managers to identify and address critical machine learning challenges.
• Conduct experiments and perform analysis to improve model accuracy and scalability, and to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Write production-ready code and contribute to our software engineering practices and standards.
• Communicate and present technical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in machine learning and related fields, and continuously apply new knowledge and techniques to our platform.

Qualifications:

• Strong machine learning fundamentals and skills in one or more of the following areas: experimental design, causal inference, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Python.
• Experience with data modeling and analysis, as well as the ability to write production-ready code.
• Ideally, a Ph.D. in a relevant field and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in machine learning. Desirable qualities include NLP experience, experience with news, and experience in computational journalism.
• A passion for tackling complex, real-world problems and delivering innovative solutions that have a real impact on people’s lives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Lead Data Scientist

Hybrid San Francisco Bay Area, CA $180,000 – $210,000 + Competitive Benefits

THE ROLE

As a Lead Data Scientist you will…

• Build predictive and machine learning models for understanding users through user acuisition and growth, videos, advertisement, content optimization, personalization, and more!
• Work closely with product teams to build out end to end solutions
• Lead projects and mentor more junior members
• Build end to end deep learning algorithms for recommendation, personalization, search, pricing, and more.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years of full time experience in data science and machine learning
• Experience with recommendations, search, matchmaking, personalization, pricing, etc.
• Experience with deep learning including graph neural networks, LSTM modeling, CNNs, and more
• Experience leading teams is a huge plus.
• Tools: Python, Tensorflow, SQL, Spark

THE BENEFITS

As a Lead Data Scientist, you can expect a base salary between $180,000 to $210,000 (based on experience) plus competitive benefits.
