THE COMPANY
This Bio-Tech company is leveraging cutting-edge sample prep technologies with genome sequencing and machine learning. They are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their Data Science team to positively impact their patients outcomes.
THE ROLE
As the founding Senior Data Engineer, you will be on the data science team focusing on building machine learning models to predict antimicrobial resistance from genomic sequencing data. You would be leading a small team of data engineers while focusing on the company's infrastructure.
Your further responsibilities will include:
- Develop, improve, and maintain code for key data processing pipelines
- Build a robust and scalable data ecosystem for one of our company's most important data assets
- Provide expertise and drive best practices around database management, data pipeline design, and workflow automation
- Work closely within the data science team and with outside collaborators
- Maintain close communication with the team regarding process
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience with cloud technology (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Container (Docker or Kubernetes), CI/CD tooling, and a Orchestration tool.
- Experience working in a start-up company
- Enthusiasm for communicating and working creatively with others while being strategy focused
- Passion for working creatively with interesting and innovative data
BENEFITS
