This is an opportunity for an Insight Analyst to join a small consultancy company. You will benefit from interesting projects and stakeholder engagement within a small team, as well as excellent training and progression, with opportunities to perform a range of advanced analytics.
THE COMPANY
This role is with a small start-up consultancy with market-leading founders that make a difference to their clients. They take Data and Analytics very seriously, and are a small but mighty force! Therefore, they are data-driven and looking for analytical professionals to join the team.
THE ROLE
As the Insight Analyst, you'll be:
- Drawing insights from data using SQL for manipulation, extraction and analysis to help understand the customer base and business problems
- Working across digital data and web behaviour as well as customer data for things like segmentation
- Explaining actionable insights back to key stakeholders from both a technical and a non-technical background
- Conducting analysis on the customer journey from acquisition through to retention
- Conducting channel analysis to identify what channels customers are coming from to efficiently attribute marketing spend
- Identifying common customer characteristics who are likely to churn to prevent this from occurring
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You don't have to tick every box but experience across the following would be beneficial:
- 2:1 Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related field from a leading university
- Proficiency in SQL and Python/R, having utilised it in a commercial role previously
- Proficiency in a data visualisation tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.
- Experience in a commercial role with a focus on customer insight, customer loyalty, and marketing data
- Experience in analysing data to create optimal pricing strategies
- Expert communication skills with the ability to communicate to tech and non-tech audiences
- Experience in customer segmentation and analytical modelling, including prediction and propensity

WHAT WILL YOU GET TO DO?
As the Senior Analytics Manager, you will be joining the Analytics team as well as reporting to the Director of Analytics. You can expect to:
- Regularly liaise with various stakeholders across the data team and board
- Conduct deep-dive analysis with SQL and R/Python into student and operational data
- Automate and productionise predictive models, like propensity to lapse, forecasting models, etc.
- Able to deliver proof of concepts with models before rolling these out to the wider data team and business
- Manage one data scientist, and help scale up the team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
You will be expected to:
- Have previous commercial experience in data analysis, predictive modelling and customer analytics in SQL
- Conduct demographic analysis and segmentation to better understand the student base
- Excellent experience in productionising and deploying predictive models in R/Python
- Have excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders
- Preferably have managed or at least mentored/coached

- Base salary up to £67,000

Since the new CEO joined there has been a huge focus on their data team and they have never seen such a big demand for insights before.
They’re keen to make sure that every business decision is as data-driven as possible. They have also hired a new director of data strategy who is giving them a lot more buy-in and influence around the business.
Role
In this role they need someone who is a leader and can create a high-performing culture in the team, this role can quickly transition into a senior manager, as Andy takes more of a strategic position.
This role will be looking at:
- Customer behavior, diving into segmentation, churn etc
- Marketing analytics, working closely with CRM managers to ensure we’re optimising marketing performance and channels.
- Data Storytelling will be an important aspect of this role to provide insight into the company.
- You will also work with a 3rd party agency to look at drivers behind customer feedback and optimising CX.
