THE ROLE
As a staff web engineer, you will balance your time between utilising your technical expertise and leading the team in creating exceptional web experiences. You will lead this team in constructing an engaging, visually pleasing, and scalable web applications that engage users.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:
- Use JavaScript and react to design and develop the web experience
- Improve speed and scalability to ensure the web applications are efficient, fast, and scalable
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to increase customer satisfaction
- Mentor junior engineers and establish high standards of coding, practices, and architectural guidelines
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful staff web engineer will have the following skills and experience:
- 10+ years of experience in modernising web applications - and able to provide a portfolio to showcase your ability
- Expertise in utilising JavaScript and React 18 to implement responsive designs.
- Experience with SEO practices and tools
- Strong leadership skills in mentoring junior engineers and solving analytical problems

Responsibilities
- Enforcing the data governance framework, which includes ownership, onboarding, standards, rules, and processes.
- Leading data governance committees to ensure decision-making around data evolves to meet business needs.
- Collaborating with technology and architecture teams to manage changes within the data catalog and data quality.
- Creating and agreeing on metrics to measure data governance and quality, providing actionable insights to drive a proactive approach.
