Position: Senior Data Scientist - Optimize Customer Experiences Location: Flexible (Remote work from anywhere in the United States)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cutting-edge analytical projects focused on boosting customer retention, amplifying profitability, and maximizing lifetime value.
  • Provide actionable insights that shape the entire customer journey through data, statistical models, and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of software engineers, data analysts, and product leaders to drive business initiatives.
  • Work with different business departments (UW, Claims, Marketing, Advertising) to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Utilize statistical and machine learning algorithms to enhance business processes and decision-making.
  • Create monitoring procedures and reports for implemented projects.
  • Research new data sources and infrastructure, creating data repositories to support business needs.
  • Prepare reports, graphs, and charts based on research and analyses.
  • Streamline analysis procedures through the development of dynamic reports and automation.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and insights to stakeholders, leading meetings and driving impactful discussions.
  • Mentor entry-level data scientists and data analysts, providing training on analytical tools and programming languages.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, computer science, or related areas (Master's degree preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in data mining and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL and statistical software packages (Python, R, SAS).
  • Strong experience as a data scientist or similar role, with a proven track record in data processing, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the P&C insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data mining, machine learning, programming, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based advanced data and analytics environments.
  • Comfort with problem-solving, analytical thinking, and ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with AWS, GitHub, or other cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Solid experience using R, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Strong data skills, ability to work with large structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Experience in predictive modeling and text analytics techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
