Join our dynamic team of professionals and contribute to the fight against fraud in the digital financial landscape.

Job Description:

This Fin-Tech Start-up is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Data Science to lead their fraud detection efforts. As the Manager of Data Science, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning models and algorithms to detect and prevent fraudulent activities within our fintech platform. You will lead a team of talented data scientists, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive data-driven decision-making to safeguard our customers' financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data scientists to develop and deploy fraud detection models and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define fraud detection strategies and objectives.
  • Analyze and preprocess large-scale datasets to extract meaningful insights for fraud detection.
  • Apply classification modeling techniques such as linear regression and tree-based methods.

Example Project:

Use machine learning to detect fraudulent activities in the fintech industry. Develop predictive models to identify potential cases of fraud, such as predicting the likelihood of early loss for a bank and anticipating when individuals may default on auto loans. By analyzing demographic information, borrower characteristics, and personal data, our goal is to accurately predict the possibility of default and prevent fraudulent transactions.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Strong expertise in classification modeling using techniques such as linear regression and tree-based methods.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with big data technologies and data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Leadership experience, including goal and results orientation, leading and growing technical teams, and the ability to pivot quickly when needed.
