I am partnered with a consultancy group in the sporting space, partnering with major sports organizations to drive data-driven insights and innovations. They focus on leveraging advanced analytics to enhance player performance and safety, particularly through injury prevention and management.
Role Overview:
I am seeking a skilled Data Analyst who operates at the intersection of data science and sports analytics. The ideal candidate will be adept in handling complex data sets and proficient in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and multivariate testing. This role involves working closely with data to assess injury risks based on player activity, turf conditions, and more. You will utilize Python for data manipulation, visualization, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data from wearable monitors used by players to assess multiple factors.
- Transform raw data into actionable insights using Python, including data visualization and predictive modeling.
- Conduct statistical analysis and multivariate testing to identify patterns and trends.
- Present research findings to non-technical stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, while primarily working onsite in Charlottesville.
Requirements:
- Master's degree preferred in STEM fields or Bioinformatics.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and multivariate testing.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Previous experience in sports analytics or health-related research is a plus.
- Willingness to work onsite in Charlottesville with some flexibility for remote work.
