Job Title: Chief Data Officer

We're partnered with a leading online gaming platform, recognized for providing both digital gaming experiences and physical slot machines across global markets. The company is embarking on a significant data transformation journey to leverage its vast player data to optimize user engagement, retention, and overall business growth.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Chief Data Officer (CDO) to lead data strategy and infrastructure transformation. The CDO will play a pivotal role in overhauling and modernizing the company's data infrastructure, ensuring they can scale advanced analytics, machine learning models, and data-driven marketing initiatives.
This leadership role will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with executive stakeholders across marketing, engineering, and product teams. The CDO will oversee a team of 40-50 data professionals and work to establish best practices for data governance, data engineering, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Infrastructure Modernization: Oversee the transformation of legacy data systems, enabling advanced machine learning models and real-time recommendations for personalized user experiences.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a growing team of data professionals, including data engineers and machine learning experts. Develop the roadmap for scaling and optimizing data processes and infrastructure.
- Data Governance & Strategy: Establish robust data governance practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Build a strategy that enables data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Customer Data & Analytics: Lead efforts to better utilize the company's DTC platform's data, improving customer segmentation, predictive analytics, and personalization models to enhance player retention and lifetime value (LTV).
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with product, marketing, and executive teams to ensure data initiatives align with business goals and deliver tangible results.
Key Projects:
- Build infrastructure to support ML-driven recommendation systems that can personalize player experiences in real-time.
- Integrate and streamline data across the organization to ensure consistent insights and drive smarter decision-making.
- Implement data-driven marketing strategies to improve player engagement and retention.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a data leader with a strong track record of driving data infrastructure transformations and machine learning implementations.
- Leadership experience managing teams of a similar size, including data engineers, data scientists, and analysts.
- Background in data governance, data strategy, and advanced analytics, with a hands-on approach in building and implementing solutions.
- Experience in online gaming preferred
- Strong technical skills in Python and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with both small to medium-sized companies, demonstrating agility and resourcefulness in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with executive leadership and stakeholders.
