We seek a strong Infrastructure & Network Engineer to help design, maintain, and optimise the networking and computing infrastructure supporting our robotics development, testing, and production environments.

This role involves hands-on support for network configuration, local server environments, storage solutions, and on-premise GPU clusters, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage lab networks (routers, switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi) to ensure high-performance connectivity for robotic testing.
  • Support teleoperation with low-latency, high-bandwidth links between operators and robots.
  • Maintain local servers and NAS storage, ensuring uptime, backups, and secure access.
  • Design and manage scalable, secure IT infrastructure (on-prem, hybrid, or cloud).
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance (QoS, uptime, connectivity).
  • Implement and enforce security best practices (access control, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Maintain documentation of network setups, procedures, and hardware inventory.

Expertise:

  • Strong networking experience: Wi-Fi, switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, iptables.
  • Skilled in managing NAS systems and storage for robotics/AI workloads.
  • Proficient with Linux server administration and hardware configurations.
  • Familiar with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) and automation tools.

  • Experience supporting real-time or high-availability networked systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with GPU servers, containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + cloud like AWS/GCP).
  • Familiarity with teleoperation, game streaming, or low-latency systems.
  • Infrastructure monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Netdata, etc.
  • Basic scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and tooling.
  • Strong communicator with solid documentation skills.
