This is an exciting new opportunity where you will be responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing influential and value-enhancing models and statistical algorithms. You will be working with diverse modelling techniques and methods to achieve growth while optimising customer outcomes.

THE ROLE

The role involves the development, deployment, and monitoring of influential and value-driven models and statistical algorithms. You will utilise a range of modelling techniques and methodologies to achieve substantial and sustainable growth.

  • Develop, implement and oversee the performance of segmented models tailored for unsecured consumer lending products, ensuring they deliver significant value.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Analytics team to enhance the overall value of the lending portfolio by adapting data sources, refining modelling strategies, and optimising methodologies and processes.
  • Engage with in-house Data Engineers and Data Analysts to facilitate the preparation of modelling and monitoring data.
  • Establish connections with relevant external stakeholders such as credit reference agencies, data providers, and software vendors.
  • Generate comprehensive model documentation and recommendations suitable for presentation to both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.
  • Provide regular, timely model monitoring to ensure the continued appropriateness and effectiveness of the models.
  • Foster close cooperation with colleagues throughout the organization to successfully deliver projects and support the transformation agenda.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Substantial prior experience in modelling, data science or decision science within the realm of risk management.
  • Proficiency in hands-on data manipulation and statistical modelling using languages like Python and SQL.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Machine learning experience is desirable.
  • Willingness and adaptability to thrive in a high-speed start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Strong degree in a technical numerical field.
