ROLE:
- Lead the development of new generative AI features, tackling complex challenges like multi-hop question answering and interaction with symbolic systems.
- Construct Knowledge Graphs to bolster the product's value proposition.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to identify business needs and customize AI solutions accordingly.
- Enhance AI models and infrastructure for improved performance, scalability, and accuracy.
- Stay up to date with the latest AI technologies and techniques, driving continuous innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong software engineering skills, with a focus on machine learning and AI.
- Experience deploying foundational Language Models (SLM / LLMs) in production environments.
- Proficiency in deploying machine learning solutions at scale.
- Deep understanding of data modelling for search, retrieval, and reranking.
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including backend engineers, front-end engineers, and product designers.
- Additional advantage for experience in ML Ops and deployment across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Practical experience with machine learning techniques for search and retrieval, such as Learning to Rank.
- Experience building Knowledge Graphs and leveraging GNNs.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Harnham is partnered with an accounting tech startup in the New York City area. They are looking for a Machine Learning Operations Engineer with a background in deploying and scaling large-scale ML/AI platforms using regulated data. This person will sit in their Engineering team and partner with stakeholders across the business.
THE ROLE
- You will deploy machine learning models to support new and existing platforms in accounting technology
- You will report directly into the VP of Machine Learning and work closely on technical direction
- Own development of new PoCs and quickly build into production, using regulated data across finance and insurance
- You will implement and design code and build out to production using various machine learning techniques
- Potential to grow into thought leader role for MLOps within the business
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Lead MLOps Engineer will likely have the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years of commercial experience preferred with a focus on deploying machine learning models
- Experience working in a startup or dynamic environment a plus
- Fluent in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for production-grade work
- Commercial experience building novel AI platforms with large datasets
- Cloud experience in AWS preferred
- History of working on models from concept to production / end-to-end
- Familiarity with advanced machine learning approaches for applications with accounting, legal, insurance claims, fraud detection or other regulated domains
- Experience in settings wearing multiple hats
- History of partnering with non-technical stakeholders a plus
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar
THE BENEFITS
A competitive base salary of $180,000-200,000 + benefits + equity
