About the Company
We are a rapidly growing EdTech company that empowers students worldwide by facilitating access to educational content. Our platform serves over 50 million students monthly, establishing us as a key player in the fast-evolving EdTech space. Driven by a strong product-market fit, we continuously innovate to reduce educational disparities and improve student success globally.

About the Role
Data is the cornerstone of our success. Our team leverages terabytes of data to guide decision-making and propel the company's growth. As we scale, we are investing heavily in our data infrastructure to transition from diagnostic analytics to predictive and prescriptive analytics powered by machine learning.

As a Medior Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our data capabilities, working alongside a talented team of engineers, scientists, and analysts. You'll contribute to our robust AWS-based data stack, which includes tools such as Airflow, Redshift, dbt, Spark, Kubernetes (Fargate), and Terraform. This position offers hands-on opportunities in data engineering, with the potential to assume ownership of specific technical processes over time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • DataOps Support: Optimize and maintain data pipelines, automate workflows, and troubleshoot systems while collaborating with DevOps and documenting processes.
  • Hands-On Data Engineering: Build and refine data pipelines, integrate external data sources via APIs, and manage pipeline incident resolution.
  • Ownership Opportunities: Take initiative within data engineering projects, with the chance to gradually assume ownership of technical processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across the company to meet ad hoc data requirements, ensuring data engineering supports broader company goals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong software engineering background.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, etc.).
  • Familiarity with distributed computing technologies, particularly Spark.
  • Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow and ELT frameworks like dbt.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and software engineering best practices (KISS, DRY principles).
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical problems to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with curiosity and resilience to tackle diverse challenges.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Be part of shaping a product that impacts tens of millions of users.
  • Join a data-driven, ambitious organization with a focus on hyper-growth and innovation.
  • Enjoy a supportive culture that values learning and development, with minimal bureaucracy.
  • Contribute to impactful data-driven applications in a dynamic EdTech environment.

This is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking, data-first team and play a significant role in transforming the education sector. Apply today and become part of a mission-driven company that values innovation and personal growth!
