This position as a Databricks Engineer allows you to work within a dynamic consultancy company located in the heart of London. If you are tired of working on repetitive projects that tend to merge into BAU, this contract will allow to work on technically varied projects daily. Mentoring others on creating data flows within Azure will rapidly progress your ability as an Azure Data Engineer and will put you above competitors when looking to progress your career.

THE ROLE
As a Databricks Engineer, you will be involved in a data transformation program, migrating to Azure within Databricks due to the implementation of a new Microsoft stack within the company. You will also oversee the post-project documentation which will then be relayed to non-technical specialists.
As an Azure Data Engineer, the objective is to migrate onto an Azure based database and report the process to stakeholders. This will involve:
- Designing and developing a data warehouse from scratch using SQL.
- Developing and implementing ETL extractor pipelines.
- Designing the Databricks Architecture and building components using Pyspark
- Creating a documentation of the process to relay to non-technical specialists.
- Developing Data Marts and Data stores for further integration
KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
As an Azure Data Engineer, you will require the following background and skills:
- Commercial experience in Azure data platforms.
- Commercial experience using Databricks
- Experience migrating data from on premise to cloud solutions.
- Commercial experience using Azure Data-Factory and best practices to create data flows.
- Experience understanding SQL data flows.
- Experience of previous DAX expressions used in commercial settings.
- Having a clear understanding of the issues you may stumble upon.
