DATA SCIENTIST

UP TO £60,000 + BENEFITS (50% BONUS POTENTIAL)

OXFORDSHIRE 5 DAYS A WEEK

THE COMPANY

This is a very unique opportunity at a boutique games studio as a Data Scientist with extremely strong benefits and a fantastic culture, retaining over 90% of their staff over the last 7 years with circa 30 heads in the business. The company is privately owned and has maintained strong profit margins over the past years, delivering bonuses above 50% consistently.

Please note that employees in this company are in the office 5 days a week in central Oxfordshire, however, they offer a relocation package alongside strong benefits and company culture to compliment, whilst working 37.5 hours a week. They are also very flexible on the timings of being in the office, and people tend to work 7.5 hours a day, starting between 7.30-9.30am.

Another big sell is that the company has an extremely flat structure, with everyone reporting directly into c-suite, allowing for lots of opportunity for impact, value-add and ownership. The sky is the limit! If you're a football fan, you will also get Club Wembley football tickets too.

THE ROLE

As a Data Analyst you will be regularly communicating with the product team to report on your analysis that focuses on game analytics and other KPI's. This will include metrics such as how it is used, game health, user targeting, engagement and customer segmentations analysed using tools such as SQL, Python/R.

More specifically, you can expect to be doing the following:

  • Conducting and analysing A/B tests including live operations
  • Working on various deep-dive projects, often being exploratory work to identify bottlenecks or problems within the games that may be having a negative effect on player experience or retention
  • Using statistical techniques to understand player behaviour
  • Analysing campaigns and products to improve customer engagement

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful Data Analyst will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience with mobile/app gaming experience from an analytical perspective, ideally being f2p games
  • Experience working with R or Python for modelling would be beneficial but not essential
  • Strong SQL skill, being able to write complex queries
  • An inquisitive thinker, with a keen eye for deep-dive projects
  • Experience optimising products and campaigns, driving user engagement within games
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with lots of opportunity for ownership

THE BENEFITS

The successful Data Scientist will receive a salary up to £60,000 with significant bonus potential (consistently previously paying around 50%), Club-Wembley footbal tickets, enhanced pat/maternity leave, free gym, healthcare, etc.
