Redhill (x2 days per week)

An exciting B2B role with full ownership of credit risk strategy and decisioning including for SMEs (high volume, highly automated environment). This is a highly analytical role as the Credit Risk Manager is responsible for continuing the transformation of the credit risk function, driving automated underwriting and credit decisions, implementing best-in-class systems, and upskilling an experienced team of analysts and underwriters.

It's an exciting time to join as they continue their transformation program within which this role plays a crucial part. The flat structure offers huge responsibility and accountability here, both from a stakeholder engagement perspective (liaising with C level regularly) and an impact perspective (with ownership over nearly the entire credit risk function)

THE ROLE

  • Responsible for all automation within Credit Risk, setting the credit risk strategy and owning the credit risk and underwriting policies for a multi-£Bn book
  • Extract, manipulate and interrogate data to enhance the credit strategy and understand any changes in the risk profile of the existing book
  • Ownership over the credit risk decision engines
  • Support with some of the manual underwriting processes when the other Credit Risk Manager is away
  • Project manage a variety of high-value initiatives including the implementation of new systems and enhancement of Risk-Based Pricing
  • Key role in the credit committee involving the entire leadership team

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong data experience including the ability to extract and manipulate data using SQL
  • Extensive experience making B2B data-driven credit decisions i.e. for SME or business customers
  • Experience working with decision engines, credit decisions or credit underwriting
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate very effectively with senior stakeholders including CEO, CFO etc
  • Strong leadership skills proven in a team management capacity or potentially through extensive mentoring experience
