Do you want to be a leader in one of the country's most robust agency side digital media analytics groups? If so, I have a fantastic opportunity for a Director of Digital Media Analytics to join a global media agency where you will be responsible for driving media performance and audience strategy for a leading entertainment client while managing a high performing team.

ROLE OVERVIEW - DIRECTOR, DIGITAL MEDIA ANALYTICS

  • Work with clients, agency leaders, and analytics leaders to understand, document, and clarify client needs (stated and unstated) related to audience creation and activation as well as media performance reporting
  • Oversee media performance reporting across all digital channels utilizing Tableau and Datorama, and provide actionable insights & recommendations to clients on an ongoing basis
  • Prioritize, customize, and present relevant messages as part of the new business or existing client sales process to address client needs
  • Facilitate the process of developing or clarifying the client's audience strategy, extending and enriching it based on our distinct capabilities (with planning & strategy teams, client, account management)
  • Lead the process of developing, extending, and syndicating custom audiences based on client specific data and our insights on the best way to enable their intended strategy
  • Work with account teams and clients to ensure the long-term health of the relationship, both by delivering strong results from audience work, and by ensuring that the key client stakeholders feel good about the overall success and value of those results
  • Work with relevant teams to make the best use of current features to solve challenges in an engagement, and organize clear feature requests to the audience product team or to our data and technology partners to address high value new features to prioritize
  • Work with analytics account teams to help identify clients with strong potential for growth in audience analytics, then develop and execute plans for driving growth with those prospects
  • Contribute to the success of the overall team by participating or co-leading training, product, and partnership development initiatives as needed

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7-10 years of experience in agency or client-side digital media planning or media analytics
  • Demonstrated success leading work multi-functional teams strongly preferred
  • Experience with reporting & data platforms such as Datorama, Tableau, SQL, R, DCM, Salesforce DMP, comScore, etc.
  • Experience with 3rd party data providers, DMPs (e.g. Salesforce), and DSPs (e.g. DBM)
  • Strong MS Excel & Power Point skills
  • Demonstrated success in helping clients take concrete action based on analytics and data
  • Demonstrated success in managing analytical, commercial, and managerial elements of a client relationship
  • Strong understanding data and ad tech ecosystem, with a focus on digital environment

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The successful Director of Digital Media Analytics can expect a salary of $150-160k plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Using Data & Analytics To Plan Your Perfect Ski Trip

The Ski season may be drawing to a close, but it’s never too early to start planning for next year. Born and raised in the mountains of Austria, I have been skiing all of my life. For me, it’s about freedom, enjoying the views and forgetting about everything else.  But, since I’ve stepped into the world of Data & Analytics, I started to asked myself “what can I learn from my work that I can apply to my skiing”? After having a look around, I began to discover ways in which Data could support my passion. I’ve pulled together some of the most interesting things I’ve discovered and created this handy guide to help you prepare for your next trip. Here’s how you can use data to create the perfect ski trip.  Follow the snow Anyone who has skied before knows about the uncertainty before a trip. Will there be enough snow? Will the weather be good? Which resort is the most suited to my ability? Fortunately, somebody has already pulled this information together for you. Two "web spiders" were built via Scrapy, a Python framework used for data extraction, the first of which extracted ski resort data. The second spider, on the other hand, extracted daily snowfall data for each resort (2009 - present). After collecting Data from more than 600 ski resorts and spitting it into 7 main regions, the spiders were able to form a conclusion. The framework then pulled out key metrics, including the difficulty of runs, meaning that skiers are now able to decide which resort is most suitable for their ability.  As for the weather, onthesnow.com has recorded snowfall data from all major resorts, every year since 2009. We all know that good snow makes any trip better, so the collected data here will help skiers ensure they are prepared for the right weather, or even plan their trip around where the snow will be best.  Optimise your skis Ski manufacturing is a refined and complicated process, with each ski requiring many different materials to be built. Unfortunately, this often results in the best skis running out quickly as supply outspeeds demand.  To help speed up and improve the process, companies are implementing technologies like IBM Cognos* that monitor entire supply chains so that no matter how much demand increases, they have the materials to meet it.   Additionally, since the majority of companies have become more data-driven, production time has been reduced by weeks. Predictions for future demand has also become 50% more accurate, resulting in a drop of 30% idle time on production lines. Skip the Queue Tired of queuing for the ski lift? There’s good news. As they begin to make the most of data, ski resorts are introducing RFID* (Radio Frequency Identification) systems. These involve visitors purchasing cards with RFID chips included, allowing them to skip queues at the lifts as there is no need to check for fake passes. The data can then be utilised for gamification platforms to turn a skier’s time on the slopes into an interactive experience.  The shift towards Big Data not only has advantages for the visitors, but the management are also benefiting. In the past, it has been difficult to analyse skier’s data. Now, with automated and proper data management, the numbers can be crunched seamlessly and marketing campaigns can be directed at how people actually choose to ski.   Carve a Better Technique Skiing isn’t always easy, especially if you haven’t grown up with it. Usually, ski instructors are the solution but, in the age of Data & Analytics, there are other solutions. Jamie Grant and co-founder Pruthvikar Reddy have created an app called Carv 2.0, which allows you to be your own teacher. It works by using a robust insert that fits between the shell of your ski boots and the liner. It then gathers data from 48 pressure sensitive pads, and nine motion sensors.  This data is fed to a connected match-box size tracker unit, sitting on the back of your boots, before being relayed via Bluetooth to the Carv App on your phone. Carv can then measure your speed, acceleration and ski orientation a staggering 300 times a second.  Thanks to a complex set of algorithms this data is then converted into an easy to follow graphic display on your phone’s screen as well as verbal feedback from Carvella. The accuracy of this real-time data could make it a better instructor than any individual person.  Data & Analytics are helping streamline every part of our lives. In 2019, the same rings true.  But, as things develop even further, here are a few things to consider in your Marketing Data ecosystems:  Updating your company’s customer Data health – Eliminate duplicate records, make sure customer information is accurate and up-to-date, and make sure your segmentations still make sense. Have decision makers for targeted campaigns changed or moved on? Are email addresses and phone numbers still valid? Keeping your customer Data up-to-date ensures you’re not analysing invalid Data.  Creating a more focused Data-Driven approach with Marketing ROI – Assess and evaluate spending and revenue with a lens on Marketing channel variety. What’s working? What isn’t? Where can you cut costs while increasing market-generated revenue?Micro-segmenting your targeting efforts – Go deeper in your targeted Marketing efforts. Narrow your Data parameters. The more layers you add, the more targeted you can focus your messaging, and the more likely you are to reach the best audience for your business.Utilising video Marketing – Much like boosting your resume with video, the same can be said for targeted Marketing campaigns. As a Campaign Analyst, you’ll need to work with departments across the business to create a unified Content Marketing Strategy and video remains a crucial format according to a LinkedIn study. And on that note… Pressing play on video The bland days of corporate speak, restrictive tone, and limited colour in video Marketing are a thing of the past. Video is now a crucial Marketing and engagement tool, providing the opportunity to engage with customers in almost real-time.   With this, customers feel heard and can help transform a product as well as gain trust in the business itself. From GDPR to fake news to Data breaches, it’s highly important for businesses to provide transparency in their interactions and video helps them do that.  By being transparent and acknowledging mistakes, business can both gain consumer trust and improve upon their mistakes.. In addition, customer’s no longer feel like voices in a canyon; they are part of the business and therefore more invested in the company’s success.  Additionally, this can expand your reach, allowing you discover what a broader range of customers think.
