Are you passionate about joining a well-established company that has been dominating within its market space for over 25 years? A leading e-commerce company are looking for an experienced Data Science Manager to handle the successful building of algorithms, statistical models, and visualization to meet business growth in Richmond.


As Data Science Manager, you will be reporting to the Director of Marketing Analytics and working with large amounts of consumer data in analyzing and improving the customer lifecycle experience. You will be responsible for:

  • Building predictive models in Python or R
  • Using advanced machine methods and developing tools to improve the customer experience
  • Training and coaching junior team members and collaborating with business partners


  • Proven experience managing an insights team with a background in data science
  • Experience in consumer-focused brands
  • Strong understanding of data platforms and consumer data constructs
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills across the business and e-commerce environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, management, and leadership skills
  • Deep knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages, specifically Python, R, SQL, and Tableau
  • Proficiency in mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, data visualization, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree or PhD preferred


As a Data Science Manager you can expect to earn up to $125,000 (depending on your experience), plus great benefits including a bonus.

Coronavirus Update: What to expect from Harnham

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 2019 UK, US and European Salary Guides. With over 3,000 respondents globally, this year’s guides are our largest and most insightful yet.  Looking at your responses, it is overwhelmingly clear that the Data & Analytics industry is continuing to thrive. This has led to an incredibly active market with 77% of respondents in the UK and Europe, and 72% in the US, willing to leave their role for the right opportunity.  Salary expectations remain high, although we’re seeing that candidates often expect 2-10% more than they actually achieve when moving between roles.  Globally, we’ve also seen a change in the reasons people give for leaving a position, with a lack of career progression overtaking an uncompetitive salary as the main reason for seeking a change.   There also remains plenty of room for industry improvement when looking at gender parity; the UK market is only 25% female and this falls to 23% in the US and 21% across the rest of Europe.  In addition to our findings, the guides also include insights into a variety of markets and recommendations for both those hiring, and those seeking a new role.  You can download your copies of the UK, US and European guides here.
