This is a fantastic opportunity for a Lead / Principal / Staff software engineer to join one of the largest retail companies in the UK. This individual will come into the business and lead multiple teams, and multiple projects and ultimately impact the direction that the entire business will take. This individual should have experience working on the front end and back end as well as experience working with Cloud and Data. You will be working alongside multiple talented engineers like yourself to take this organization’s engineering function to the next level. SRE DATA ENGINEER £90,000 – £140,000

This leading telecom company is looking for a passionate Senior Software engineer to join their team. They have expanded to help them with their exciting greenfield projects and now need some more support. They are focused on digital transformation and building out progressive data products.

The Role

As a senior developer in this role, you will sit within the data science sector. If you have an interest in this industry, then this role is for you! The role will be based on their work and trying to ensure they can complete their work.

Your other responsibilities will be:

• Building models for data scientist use
• Using GCP to produce pipelines
• Developing API’s and forming integration test
• Rearchitecting systems to help maintain systems and make them re-usable
• Leading a team to complete targets,
• Conducting performance reviews
• Helping build individual performance plans.

Skill/Experience

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python, Docker, Kubernetes and SQL. If you have experience working with systems designs and writing APIS then this is the ideal roll for you. Its also a bonus to have knowledge in cloud computing best practices.

THE ROLE

This Data Engineer role requires you to take ownership of the platform and build out ETL pipelines as well as engage and manage stakeholders and help to develop solutions.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong in the use of tools such as SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Working within a Cloud technology (ideally Azure)
• Having the ability to communicate strongly and clearly and can manage and engage stakeholders.
• Having experience or an interest in the housing industry would be a bonus.
