A leading, innovative company within the financial sector is looking for an experienced data architect to join their technical team. The role involves collaborating with technical and business teams, gathering requirements, identifying strategic vision and developing a data platform.

THE COMPANY

You will be working for a fast paced, international team within the financial sector in Amsterdam, that values innovation and collaboration. The company has an established technical team and is looking for someone to build upon their data driven culture and set the direction for the next years.

THE ROLE

As a data architect, you will be:

· The link between the technical and business teams

· Gathering requirements and identifying the overall strategic vision of the team

· Developing data applications and a data platform

· Creating standards and implementing best industry practices

· Solving critical business questions

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will need to

· Come from a strong engineering background

· Have experience in a similar architectural focused role

· Be skilled in cloud technology

· Have varied technical knowledge including data processing, data management, data modelling, middleware, distributed storage and orchestration

· Have exposure to Machine Learning

That’s quite a lot of data for organisations to break down. Within Gartner’s top 10 Data & Analytics trends for 2021, there is a specific focus on using data to drive change. In fact, business leaders are beginning to understand the importance of using data and analytics to accelerate digital business initiatives. Instead of being a secondary focus — completed by a separate team — Data & Analytics is shifting to a core function. The Role of a Data Architect Just like you might hire an architect to sketch out your dreamhouse, the Data Architect is a Data Visionary. Data Architects are the puzzle solvers who can take a jumble of puzzle pieces, in this case massive amounts of data, and put everything in order.
