Lloyd Dunstall

Lloyd joined Harnham in January 2017 with a background in property sales. He is a contract consultant who focuses on Marketing & Insight.

Q: You’ve worked in sales before, so what surprised you about the job of a recruitment consultant?

A: I was surprised at how social the business is, with a background working at estate agencies I expected the culture to be the same, but it was so much more welcoming here. I joined the football team quickly and am usually part of the Thursday/Friday evening pub visit. It’s nice to feel like you could actually meet up with the people you work with at the weekends!

Q: What do you enjoy most about the job?

The challenge – it’s not easy but it’s a fast-paced environment and the job can be incredibly rewarding. I like ringing the bell.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Harnham?

The office culture – we’ve got KPI’s but it’s not too strict, I’ve worked in some estate agents that were ruthless with KPI’s. When we’re not on track here, we sit down with managers and really figure out what else we can do and what can be done.

Q: Why did you choose Harnham?

I loved the location, the office environment was much more welcoming than some of the other interviews I went to and being interviewed by the people that own the business made me feel like they were really invested in my career.

Q: Lastly, what’s been the best part of your career as a recruiter so far?

Ironically it was my first deal, but not for the reasons you’d think – it was Harnhams record smallest deal ever. It didn’t matter to me as it was a step in the right direction, it meant when I did a good size deal afterward I appreciated it more!
